I’ve been looking into email marketing and email campaign applications and software and realized that I really don’t know of many of the new apps that are out there.
I found CampaignMonitor to be a favorite among designers, but wanted your ideas and suggestions…
So, what are you using? What have you found to be successful? Are you still using email campaigns for your organization?
for work (westsidefamilychurch.com) i use mailermailer but for personal (dirtygirlsministries.com) i use constant contact. it all comes down to how much i am willing to pay.
I use Campaign Monitor, and recommend it for all of my clients. My wife uses Constant Contact (blech!).
We use myemma.com at the YMCA – it's based out of Nashville. It's got some great features, but you are limited from a graphic design standpoint. If you want bare bones and affordable, this is a great service. If you want to pay a little more for higher quality and a nicer interface, go campaignmonitor.
I am using ConstantContact – I do not know how it compares to others. It works OK for me. Started using it because I found it on someone’s newsletter.
I used MailChimp – liked the design flexibility, and the tracking was okay. I know they've added some features since the last time I used it.

I use campaign monitor for most projects. I also use MailChimp for anything that I want to be sent out automatically from an RSS feed. That is MailChimp's one killer feature.
I use Mail Chimp for church and Exact Target at work.
I demo'd and evaluated 20 smallish enterprise class e-mail marketing apps for work and Exact Target was clearly better for us. It's expensive, but it is first class. Support is excellent, features are rich, tracking is good. Email composition and templating tools are great for those that don't/can't handle the HTML.
I chose Mail Chimp (+ the AIM add-on) for church because it has a lot of good features for the price and I felt it was much better than Constant Contact and Vertical Response. There are some god features in Mail Chimp that I wish were in Exact Target.
We use mailchimp. These monkeys rawk plus they are in your back yard.
The features are good for us. The monthly plan is based on list size and not number of emails sent. So our Daily Devotionals do not break the bank.
The RSS to email campaign feature is nice too.
We at http://www.hopeclinicforwomen.org use Emma (http://myemma.com) and LOVE it but it's definitely designed for people who don't have to have technological ability. If you want to customize and do lots of crazy stuff, you may not like Emma but she's a sweet girl and very affordable. There are a lot of layouts and templates you can use but not sure exactly how flexible all of that is. Love all the back end tracking you can do and customer service is fabulous.

I was beginning to get a little worried when the first four posted didn't mention MailChimp but then the fifth post came around, along with all the rest. MailChimp easily beats out iContact and ConstantContact in my opinion. I haven't used the other ones but I can't imagine they're any better or else I would know about them

For what it's worth, our firewall blocks aweber.com links where I work. So I really don't subscribe to people who use that for email marketing.
We still do email blasts, but not as often. Most of the time, I just create the mailings manually in Dreamweaver and then use our Web host's basic mailing list service to send it our subscribers. A lot of other businesses in my town use ConstantContact.
I went open source and used phplist.com It works great, you can do message tracking and a lot more. Best of all it runs on my server and its FREE. Check out ChurchMediaDesign.tv (episode 55 and 56) i cover how to set it up and put it into use!
We use Constant Contact. It works for most our needs, gives us a bit of flexibility. It's not a great tool, but it's functional.
