HeavenUp is “Christian social and media networking.”
Think: Facebook for Christians.
Here’s a little more about HeavenUp:
HeavenUp is a safe Christian social network community where you can connect with Christian friends, bands, artists, churches, pastors, youth pastors, authors, speakers, comedians, radio stations, TV stations and all other Christian organizations. Members can share and/or sell their content such as music, videos, books, films, DVDs, CDs, sermons, bible studies, downloads, software and all other Christian content. HeavenUp provides an online environment for Christians to fellowship and build meaningful Christian relationships. The foremost goal of HeavenUp is to unite the body of Christ and help further His Kingdom.
What do you think about this kind of service? Helpful? Lame? Awesome?
Have you, do you use HeavenUp?
I would love to hear your thoughts!

Yikes. Everything that Christians usually touch is slightly corny and ridiculous…I mean, look at Christian video games and Christian movies (for little kids especially)…it’s a novel idea, but I have a feeling it won’t last…
Eric Dye says
True story.
Travis Paulding says
I don’t even like the idea. Christ followers are supposed to be salt and light. Removing (or potentially failing miserably at trying to) ourselves from the world doesn’t benefit anyone except for up tight parents who’d rather their kids just not face tough questions in life instead of teaching them how to face them.
Travis Paulding says
I meant to also add:
How does this “further His Kingdom”? Sounds more like hiding your light under a bowl to me.
Kevin says
Sounds like church sometimes.
Eric Dye says
HA! No kidding!!!
Eric Dye says
This is what I was thinking.
Sheldon Curry says
Social media are tools. They cannot make a free-will profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. They can be no more Christian or Hindu or Jewish or pagan than a shovel or toothbrush.
Just sayin’.
Eric Dye says
Agreed.
kris says
So are you all saying that a toothbrush or a shovel can be a community where you can fellowship? I am just trying to follow your reasoning and agreement by the author of this article.
Josh Wagner says
We have enough “Holy Huddles” in our churches. We don’t need another level of insulation from our culture. Either get engaged with the people, or get lost. Harsh, yeah, I know. But unless you actually get your hands dirty, not one soul will be won for the Kingdom.
Eric Dye says
You know THAT’s right! 😀
kris says
Me again. Still not following your reasoning. Are you all saying that you cannot bring people into a church or an online fellowship that could help them? Where are you recommending your non-Christian friends to get fellowship? Or are you? Just saying.
Bishop James I Feel God Brown says
Er ah …
Right silly. 1/2 the world is sitting on facebook and christians want to do the opposite of Jesus and sit cloistered behind heavy doors and being neither salt nor light
In Him,

Suckage to the max.
Where in the Bible does it tell us to build a walled garden?
And a cheesy one at that.
Ugh.
Thou. Shalt. Not.
Eric Dye says
Tell us what you REALLY think. 😉
Chuck McKnight says
Sounds a bit silly and superfluous. Yet there may be an audience there that won’t go on Facebook or Twitter.
Eric Dye says
True.
