Carlsberg released a very funny commercial. One of those commercials you stop and watch instead of ignore.
Here’s the setup:
A couple enters a movie theater that has been completely pre-filled with tough looking biker types, leaving only two seats available.
The reaction to each of the innocent and unsuspecting couples is hilarious!
Take a look:

Mark Altrogge posted this on The Blazing Center and asked a very good question:
I wonder if this is how people feel when they come to our Church?
Well? Do they?
Watch it again in the context of a Church visitor, and tell me what you think.

Charles Specht says
Ha! Love this.
And I bet most visitors do feel like this, which is why they tend to find the closest seat in the back next to the exit.

Seriously.

I love this video. As long-time church goers we can grow extremely ignorant to what people experience the first time they come to one of our meetings. It’s interesting to walk into a “successful” mega church as a visitor and study exactly this fact: usually they have a great team of greeters, who lead you to your seat. Joel Osteen even goes so far to make sure he shakes the hand of every visitor after service every week!
Have you ever seen “What if the church marketed like starbucks?”. That video totally hits the same topic and gives a quite amusing perspective on how we make first time visitors feel in most churches. I wrote on this topic on my Blog: http://www.revivallifestyle.com/if-starbucks-marketed-like-the-church/
