36… too many. i've got 258 unreads at the moment. I'm going to clear out anything I haven't looked at in a week.

  2. February 26, 2009 at #

28 feeds in 3 categories in Google reader. Wow, and I just did some pruning last month.

    24, no more, no less.

    • February 28, 2009 at #

are you “dogmatic” about the number?

  4. February 26, 2009 at #

Hmmm…72…I think I need to do some pruning. There's no unreads, but often I just skim

131 but I need to do some "spring cleaning." I know some of those blogs have been abandoned. My feed reader (SharpReader) seems to be bugging out on my this morning too. A lot of "Error reading URL: Unable to connect to the remote server" message. Anyways, I digress…

    • February 28, 2009 at #

      sharpreader… huh. never used it…!

      • February 28, 2009 at #

Yeah, I've used it for years, but I don't think the developer is updating/developing it anymore. What do you use John? – Paul

        • February 28, 2009 at #

google reader exclusively… but i'm open to others… just havne't found any better…

  7. February 26, 2009 at #

Just realized that all the feeds showing a connection error are feedburner feeds. Anyone else having trouble getting updates from feedburner?

Usually between 40-50. Right now 47. Too many, the reading is often cursory and so many tends to make me more of a lurker than I would like to be.

    • February 28, 2009 at #

lurker. that's a video game thing.

      • February 28, 2009 at #

Good way of looking at it. Fat lurker.

  9. February 26, 2009 at #

    138.

Like Christian, I need to trim some fat.

    Add and delete.
Thinking about deleting one or two right now.

  11. February 26, 2009 at #

Currently 68 and that was after some trimming . .

  12. February 26, 2009 at #

126 – but many of those only publish once a week, or are daily comic strips, etc. Probably 40-50 that I really read.

  13. February 26, 2009 at #

Started at 127 a month ago and cut it to 50. I'm currently at 53, so I need to lose 3 of them to get back to my goal of only following 50.

How many feeds are you subscribed too?

        • February 28, 2009 at #

          194. my goal is to cap at 200… or that was my goal… i may have to change that.

how many feeds? Churchcrunch became my 23rd on Sunday. I have a good mix of tech, church, news and a few sports sites included too. Using Google's reader, I don't know how I did without rss feeds for so long.

        February 28, 2009 at #

yeah, getting rid of bloglines soon and consolidating.

  17. February 27, 2009 at #

    122. I need to cut it down. So many people start blogging and stop. Also I don't know why I have multiple stuff like 2 blogs for the same sports team. Time for purging! I use google reader..it's the best one.

  18. February 28, 2009 at #

    122. wow. purge……..

  19. February 28, 2009 at #

    time to cut down?

  20. February 28, 2009 at #

    feedburner is migrating to google.

    • February 28, 2009 at #

Yeah, I just migrated the feeds for my own blogs into my Google account. That didn't affect the feeds I subscribe to in my feed reader though. Eventually later in the day I started getting updates from feedburner, so all is good now. – Paul

  21. February 28, 2009 at #

    skimming in the new reading.

  22. February 28, 2009 at #

yes. in his underpants. that's me.

  23. February 28, 2009 at #

Now that is a picture that I do not burned into my memory. next topic, please, next topic.

  24. February 28, 2009 at #

    Okay.

    So I felt convicted.

    97 feeds now.

  25. March 25, 2009 at #

I'm currently subscribed to 45 RSS feeds. It used to be 75+, but then I decided that a bunch of them needed to go.

I did the same thing on Facebook. I de-friended a bunch of people that I really didn't consider to be friends (a solid 150 or so, I think).
