WordPress….I have migrated from Blogger to Movable Type to now WordPress for the last year….the best!

    WordPress, for sure.

  3. January 7, 2009 at #

Expression Engine. I feel like i have to apologize for that around these parts being that this corner of the web is all about WordPress. :)

are you thinking of switching? seriously, no pressure.

  4. January 7, 2009 at #

    WordPress….of course

  5. January 7, 2009 at #

WordPress for sure – for self-hosted and multi-user options there is no better choice. In fact, I'm going so far as to use WordPress as the CMS for our entire church website and ministry network.

We are developing a new interface for wordpress that I'll reveal soon. For now, there are some options that churches can modify – for instance http://churchtheme.com/bchurch/

We actually started modifying this theme but then chose to start with something new.

OK, I am odd man out. I am on Blogger (I am the Social Mediot after all). It was what I started with and the thought of migrating and managing that seems too daunting for me. Makes blogging seem like a job, an occupation rather than a vocation.

      we can help!

      • January 15, 2009 at #

Some day we will have top sit down and walk through my issues. probably a 3 day holiday weekend 'cause we are going to need the extra 24 hours.

I'm on blogger, but I'm thinking about migrating to wordpress.

    • January 15, 2009 at #

do it. you'll feel so much better for doing it.

WordPress, but then again it's not like I have a blog on each type that I can evaluate. So I am biased ;-) .

I just moved from Blogger to WordPress, and for the guys above: it's really easy. There are things I still can't stand about WordPress, but the behind-the-scenes stuff (I'm sure there's a techie term for that that I don't know) is great.

    WordPress 2.7 and loving it.

    WordPress 2.7…

  12. January 7, 2009 at #

I'm using BlogEngine.NET because I contribute to open source project. And everything is in nice re-usable XML files, instead of a database.

I'm using Weebly – great blogging/hosting platform rolled into one for those who don't need infinite flexibility with their layout. I started out on Mindsay years ago and then did Blogger for a while… but I'm definitely happy where I'm at now.

  14. January 7, 2009 at #

I am using WordPress 2.7 on my blog.

I currently use Blogger, but want evidence of why I should migrate to WordPress…Prove it to me…I've heard lots of people say that WordPress is the best platform…I want to know why.

A few thoughts of the top of my very fatigued head…

      - the ability to make your blog into whatever you want it to be. Complete freedom of customization. If you can think of a functionality, there is a plugin that will do it.
      - speed… you control the server and how your site runs. In my very subjective experience, when I move people from Blogger to a self hosted WP site they get a marked performance increase. No stats to prove that so YMMV.
      - theme options. The amount of amazing quality templates (most for free or dirt cheap) is staggering. Just about every blogger site looks… well, like a Blogger site.
      - admin – the new WP admin is great, IMO. I've used Blogger, and it's not bad. But the WP admin for me is very functional and easy to learn not to mention powerful in its simplicity.

That's all I can think of. Time to go home. Anyone else?

        Ben,

You bring forth interesting information that no one has ever told me…I appreciate your time in answering my question…Oh and by the way…I'm still hanging on to Blogger for right now…but your reply has pushed me to a point where I want to jump in to see for myself…Thanks alot…

      • January 15, 2009 at #

        great job.

because it is. it's like the matrix.. no one can show it to you… you'll have to experience it for yourslef.

WordPress all the way. Tried others to try them and I always come back to WordPress.

  17. January 7, 2009 at #

WordPress 2.7, self hosted. There is none higher.

WordPress. I've used Blogger and TypePad and they don't compare to WordPress's ease of use on the back end, especially on setting up the look of your blog. I find it to be very intuitive…you don't need a 2-hour course in basic WP to figure out what's going on. I like the wide choice of plugins and themes I have w/WordPress, and that the vast majority of them are not only free, but of high quality. WP made me enjoy blogging.

Nothing seems to be easier than seeing someone whom you can help but not helping.
I suggest we start giving it a try. Give love to the ones that need it.
    God will appreciate it.

I’ve been using ipod touch for a while. Now it’s my favourite device.
Let’s discuss our favourite applications! One of my favourite is WMA-Convert media converter.
