We all know men and women are very different, what with men being from Mars and women from Venus, but it turns out this manifests itself on social media as well.
While social media are popular with everyone, there are some interesting differences in how men and women use them:
- 56% of all social network site users in the US are women
- women tend to make their profile private far more than men (67% vs 48%)
- neb are twice as likely as women to post something they later regret
- we’ve all heard that women rule Pinterest (82% of the users here is female), but it holds true for Twitter and Facebook as well. Not so much in terms of users, as in terms of updates.
- men on the other hand dominate on Reddit, Google+ and LinkedIn
