It’s not at all uncommon to need to create an anchor element but not have it actually link to specific location.
With event-driven websites and the ubiquitous nature of Ajax, we’re often setting up anchors to trigger displays or other behavior.

Microsoft asked Pixel Lab to create a browser app that was like a natively installed application to showcase as part of the IE9 launch.
The result: Agent 008 Ball.
This held me captive for the entire time. Wow, unbelievable video.

Pi Day is celebrated by math enthusiasts around the world on March 14th, aka: 3-14.
With the use of computers, Pi has been calculated to over 1 trillion digits past the decimal. Pi is an irrational and transcendental number meaning it will continue infinitely without repeating. The symbol for pi was first used in 1706 by William Jones, but was popular after it was adopted by the Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler in 1737.
How are you going to celebrate Pi Day?

For those not in the know, Ubuntu is a Linux Operating system that provides an alternative to using a traditional Windows or Macintosh system. For the most part, Ubuntu has been the most aggressive Linux distribution to date (in case you were wondering, there are probably hundreds of distributions and variants of said distributions). They have consistently offered a stable and very usable OS.
Their impending release of Ubuntu 11.04 (named Natty Narwhal) will bring a new user interface to Linux like we have not seen. See, until this point Linux used primarily two environments, Gnome and KDE. As a side note, people have argued over which environment is better much like we argue over Windows vs. OS X, Ford vs. Chevy, and Marvel vs. DC. This writer prefers his KDE, but that is neither here nor there, but it is correct. Wait, where was I? Oh yeah, there is about to be a Game Changer.
The new environment being presented to us by Ubuntu is called Unity. It is probably the most radical design for Linux. Ever. Users have been able to use Unity for awhile, it is only in the next release that we will see it as the default environment.
