I’ve never thought about it much until now. The influence that Japanese video game music has had on our culture is certainly underestimated. Just think of the hours and hours that gamers have listened to in the course of their life!
In fact, in the documentary Diggin’ in the Carts, they argue that video game music is Japan’s number one exported art in the world.
I’d have a hard time arguing that point.

Contraption Maker is a digital Rube Goldberg machine maker and puzzler. This was launched as a remake of the classic Incredible Machine game from back in the day.
And it’s a load of fun. 🙂
In a day and age of 3D eye candy, this really breaks the form. I had fun playing around on it, but I actually snagged it for my 7-year old son who is just loving it! Best of all, it’s on sale until September 29th for only $1.49!

Minecraft’s Steve faces Mario in an #EPIC battle of pixel perfection.
If you know and love these two games, you’ll enjoy this amazing video. They’ve done such a good job with it! Not only is the production really good—the effects and elements—but the overall story dynamic. Sure, it’s only a few minutes long, so maybe ‘story dynamic’ is a bit over the top, but they capture the essence of both characters so well!
