This makes absolute sense, and not just from a blog owners perspective, but also a small business owner who may not have too many invoices to issue and he or she can do so directly from their WP installation.

You might want to check out http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/web-invoice/. It's faster and supports Moneybookers and AlertPay addition to all the payment processors supported by WP-Invoice.

I am with you. I love WP and am happy to see anyone try to make it even more useful. The community around WP is incredible and I welcome anything that can make our lives more efficient – including invoicing (man, that is some serious time consuming activity).
