My identity does not exist outside of relationship to these other people (the &quot;social graph&quot;) or these things with which I&#039;ve self-identified (the things I&#039;m a &quot;fan&quot; of or am &quot;following&quot; on Twitter, etc.). Postmodernism helps us see how culturally/socially situated we are. The social graph helps us to see our location in relationship to other people and things (companies/brands/etc.).  </description>
