Before I get any more lost in tweaking, adjusting and fixing this and that, I thought I should get this post written and posted. 😀
After months of thinking, guessing, and second guessing, I am excited (and relieved) to announce the launch of ChurchMag 2.0.
How do you like it?
2.0 Today
I anticipate there will be plenty of hiccups in the coming days while we get everything sorted out. If you notice any weirdness, be sure to let me know. 😀
The morning (here in Italy) has been full of Transmit, multiple tabs, devices and plenty of Google searches — but it has been awesome! A few weeks ago I emailed a highly-regarded ChurchMag advisor about my latest changes to the staging server version of ChurchMag 2.0. He told me he was too slammed to give me his full attention and dropped a heavy statement on me. He said,
“Trust yourself. I do.”
That’s when I decided we would launch after yesterday’s April Fools #EPIC day; besides, the 2.0 needed to be launched in plenty of time for Operation Awesome.
2.0 Tomorrow
The future of ChurchMag 2.0 has just begun. We have more plans in the coming months and year — including reorganizing all 12,000+ blog posts to make sorting and searching easier. You can be sure the version number will be changing:
😉
Finally, if you are a ChurchMag Authors Guild member or have ever guest posted for ChurchMag, be sure to update your bio info, so all the links are correct in your author bio:
So fancy. 🙂
Well, I better get back to reformatting upcoming blog posts, figuring out why the post date isn’t displaying, and using duct tape where it’s needed.

FYI: I forgot to mention that we’ve changed our follow-up comment notification to the Jetpack solution.

I was going to complain and gripe and whine and go on…and on…and on about how change is scary and bad!
Then I saw Mega Man.
All is forgiven! Looks good guys! Can’t wait to see where you take this platform.
Eric Dye says
Thank you, Dustin!
We can’t wait, either! (Secret projects pending and all.)
Andrew Fallows says
“We have N comments.. Now let’s HERE from you!”
A quick fix!
Eric Dye says
LOL! Thanks, Andrew. 😉

Also, I’m slightly disappointed that the new comment layout doesn’t let me assert with confidence that I am (still) not a cyberman. 😛
Eric Dye says
Considering I had to switch away from Jetpack commenting ten minutes into the new design, don’t be surprised if it makes a return (either that or I’ll just add a non-functioning check-box — LOL!)

Congrats on the re-launch! We are itching to redesign our blog. I think your banner above the comments is messing with the mobile responsive design.
Eric Dye says
Thank you, Eric! I’ll take a look. 😀

I also noticed that your Author Bling and the scroll to top does not have a hidpi version. Let me know if you do not want this feedback and i’ll stop 😉
Eric Dye says
No dude. It’s all good. Keep it up!
Interesting about the rocket, it’s pulling from the same sprite map. :-/
Eric Dye says
What do you think about the move to Jetpack comment notifications?
Eric J says
Works fine for me.
Eric Dye says
Cool. One less plugin. 😀
Charles Specht says
I love it, Eric. There’s only one problem.
Whenever I see a sweet new design, I want to have my site look like it. 😉
Good job!
Eric Dye says
Thank you, Charles!
I hope to write a post soon, going over some of the details and thoughts behind the design — so I’ll be sure to share info on the theme info the design is based on. 😀

The over all width is rather high. I have not checked it out on my mac at home but on my pc running 1600×900 i have to scroll left/right. about half an inch of the right sidebar is off screen. or it could be the amount of items in the sidebar it self as it appears that the ekklesia 360 ad is sitting to the right of the actual sidebar. Looks great though
Eric Dye says
Great catch, Enzo. This looked like a Firefox issue mostly, but when I tried adding some widget love the problem was highlighted in Chrome as well. After wrangling around with my code, it turns out there was a wily check-box unchecked in my Beacon Ads — wah-wah-WAH!!!
enzo says
very nice. glad to help.
dave miers says

Eric Dye says
