Using Backtype as Social Impact Analytics

Backtype has been around for a while but they are constantly innovating and adding new features to their ever-growing platform. You can see that we’ve reported a few times on their platform here.

I’ve been quite impressed with their service so far and even use it for another property and startup business on the homepage for gathering feedback and aggregating responses around the web.

But I just began looking into their ‘Social Impact’ as an analytics device today and I’m impressed:

By entering in your URL and hitting ‘Analyze’ you can quickly see some stats about your property and how it’s been trending recently.

You can easily compare other sites too and what’s nice is that they have a very simple to understand url structure if you ever needed to shortcut right to the stats:

Results as seen above are here: http://www.backtype.com/domain/human3rror.com+churchcrunch.com

That’s slick.

I’d imagine organizations and ministries could use this weekly (daily) to track how things are going in the conversation pool. It would definitely be good to know, right?
