I love good customer service.
It feels so good when you feel fully looked after by a company.
When in the US, I have found that staff are generally trained to a very high standard in customer service. However, in the UK, generally speaking, it sucks.
Recently, though, I have found an awesome exception to the rule. A company that I know and love is now using social media to make their customer service experience even more awesome.
Check out this cool tweet from my sticker printing company, Diginate:

The tweet itself is actually quite smart in that it is referring to the current series of the apprentice UK which started last week.
Well let me start by telling you what Diginate does as a business, because it’s pretty freaking awesome!
As you well know, I used to be very much into the street art scene and one thing that has always been very popular amongst street artists historically is stickers. I have a few favorite suppliers of stickers, but my top supplier is a company based in the USA. They do amazing screen printed gloss vinyl stickers, but the minimums are very high and the wait times are extremely long. If I am looking for a long run and am happy with the wait, I will go with them. As you will appreciate though, with things like this, sometimes you just need a few stickers and quickly, too. This is where the guys at Diginate rock it!
You see, Diginate is a UK based print company that specialize in printed vinyl stickers. They do black ones, white ones, shiny ones, custom shape ones, they can do just about anything. The beauty of it is though, that they have no minimum order, you put in your size, shape and quantity on their website, upload your artwork and they will do the rest. To me, that is pretty awesome!
They will also normally turn your order around in under a week, and if you let them know that you are in a rush, you can normally expect stuff to arrive in a couple of days. They are rocking an awesome product and awesome customer service.
But, back to the social media. How are they using that to make things more awesome?
I placed an order with them last night, and they had a new option avaliable. Something along the lines of “Insert your Twitter username to get order updates to your Twitter” – awesome. So, I added my username.
Then this morning I was met with this:
How awesome is that? What a cool system!
You get a tweet every step of the process until your order has been dispatched.
To me, it seems that this would be really simple to add to a lot of companies order systems, and how awesome and appreciated would that be? People love to be in the loop about how their order is doing and when it will be delivered. This is perfect! I bet it stops a lot of unnecessary telephone calls and emails on Diginate’s side of things too, therefore saving time and money.
So, Diginate, from me, thank you! You guys are awesome, I love your product, and I really love your Twitter order update service, it’s brilliant!
If you are in the market for some custom printed vinyl stickers, I would highly recommend Diginate.
Have you ever come across a system similar to this? If so, how did it affect your customer service experience?
