I very much agree church websites must engage people in our communities who don’t attend church.
However, we are stopping short if we only seek to keep people engaged online. The goal of a church website should be to engage a person to the point that they physically visit the church. An essential part of the Church is fellowship as a body of believers. While online “community” can supplement this, it cannot replace it.

Remember, A church website is not for the church, it is for the visitor. Too many church websites are just used as a bulletin board for church events, and bake sale reminders.
Be sure your front page is inviting to guests and non-members.
