The heart of a good tasks management and todo list comes in three areas, easy capture of important tasks, the ability to review, prioritise and organise your tasks, tools to help you find the right task for the right time, and for group projects the ability to share tasks with other collaborators.
There are a wide range of different apps which tackle this in different ways and provide different benefits. For some it’s the simplicity and lack of features, for others is the massive stay of options for sorting and prioritising.
However, Todoist announced a new feature that gives it a huge helping hand at both seamless capture and collaboration. Todoist now has an IFTTT channel.

In case you don’t know, IFTTT is the service which links other Internet services via simple programming functions of ‘if [this] then [that].’ Some of the basic usages include resharing social media updates or logging phone calls, but it can get a lot more advance with functions such as locating your phone if you text it a certain number.
What this means for Todoist, is you can now have actions like “when you add something to your reading list (like Pocket) then add a task in a list. Helping you to avoid forgetting about what is in your read it later list.
Or you can message someone whenever you add a new task to your shared list.
These are just a couple of the ideas that Todoist have come up with and I’m sure people will come up with me clever ideas over time.
For me this is honestly a game changer. A way to thoughtlessly log todo actions is just what I need. I’ve been converted.
