"but, don't you get the practical use on the mission field?"

I think the heart behind this project was to create something for tribal missionaries, not a new Christian gadget to toss around the house. Hence, their BOGO program that sends Bibles to Kenya.

". . . I can’t count how many times I’ve been frustrated after spilling something on my bible and then having to fan out the pages."

Great product, however, John, I think you missed the point (and an opportunity to remind us of our call to "go") in your original post. I mean, look at the video. He is not reading the waterproof Bible in the bathtub nor at his kid's pool party. He is taking the gospel to the ends of the earth. THAT is the best part of this product. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this is not about our "Christian convenience," it's about missionaries and military folks being better equipped to share and grow. :)

He says "It is too small a thing for you to be my servant
to restore the tribes of Jacob
and bring back those of Israel I have kept.
I will also make you a light for the Gentiles,
that you may bring my salvation to the ends of the earth."
[Isaiah 49:6]

I saw this at the NYWC in Cincy last week and my first thought was...why??? With everything going on in the world today why do we feel we need a waterproof bible? My persona thought is its just another way to pimp out something for the Christian that wants everything! Kind of like TestaMints!!!! You know you have always wanted to buy them...

just my thoughts

joanna, one of the cool features of the Waterproof Bible is that you can highlight in them with a dry highlighter. Plus you can write in them with a ball point pen. Enjoy!
