I'm really open to suggestions at this point. This is just a thought I've been tossing around in my head recently. I haven't had much time to do a lot of research yet as to the 'how' I would do it. I think this could potentially be a bigger project than I think it is and I would like to work with a group of bloggers and techno-savvy people to pull this off.

I need to understand more about how wiki's work too. I don't have a platform in mind yet.

My wife has recently signed a contract with an organization called Visions Made Viable (http://visionsmadeviable.org/) for the purpose of fiscal sponsorship of her ministry (http://christianfamilyplanning.net/) They handle all of the legal and financial administrative work and financial accounting for a 10% cut of donations.

The interesting part is that this allows a group to focus on the ministry and outreach that they have a vision and passion for and not get bogged down in the administrative back end stuff. This also challenges the North American thinking of their should be an organization (App?) for that. No if you have passion for ministry, get out there and do it! We'll bring up the rear and make sure it happens!

Sounds fascinating. So perhaps start a wiki-type site to gather all the information together? Is there a model or example in another industry that you're looking towards?

Good post Rodlie. I've been thinking a lot about starting something to categorize charities and talk about them. It seems like everyone and they're brother is trying to start a 501c3 these days and they don't know the first thing about raising any money. My thought is that too many people out there are trying to do pretty much the same thing and perhaps if there was a central place online where they could learn about the mere existence of each other... they could just join forces in the first place. Less options on 'where' to give money means more money going to one place which would then (theoretically) be able to do more good!

I'm interested to see what you think about this.

you're right, the $10 thing was a flop...and a very expensive one at that.
I was very confused, and that $10 is still sitting in an envelope somewhere for me too...
