Despite the fact that HTML5 is taking the web by storm, that people are already building impressive applications and projects, and that we’ve begun to support it using various decals, it’s not done yet.
In fact, it won’t be done for another three years.
“This is the first time we’ve been able to answer people’s questions of when it will be done,” said Ian Jacobs, head of W3C marketing and communications. “More and more people from more and more industries are asking when it will be done. They require stability in the standard and very high levels of interoperability.”
Much better than the 2022 speculation we heard a few months ago, huh?
