Is sure can be! (Be sure to review them first, though, just to be on the safe side, since I’m not sure who put it together.)

      :-)

This is pretty kewl and could be used to help children understand and visualize a lot in the Bible but I think some of it is not so good. I wanted to use it for my kids but some of the statements and images (sex scenes) are almost mockery of the Bible and Christian beliefs. Add to that the advertisements on the side with girls in their underwear…

      Hmmm … those weren’t the ads I got …

These should certainly be reviewed, first, and not let kids click around themselves. Not sure who put this together in the first place. However, there is some stuff here that could be really cool to use!

Thanks for the heads up and letting us know, Doug. :-)

I don’t think so. Flights from Italy to the US are a little pricey ;-)

Yeah, the project is kind of fun and someone obviously put a lot of time into it, but if you look at much of it, it will be clear that it was not actually done by a Christian, but by an atheist who is parodying the Bible. Take a look at this one:
    http://www.thebricktestament.com/acts_of_the_apostles/stephen_gets_stoned/ac06_10.html
I would not recommend sending kids to the site.

Im confused Ben how this is a parodying the bible…especially the photo you referenced. The verse is right and Stephen really was stones so the title is correct. And the old testament did predict Jesus several times…so…where is the flaw in that specific image?

I do agree that the ads are smut but those are what you get with Google ads sometimes or random banners you buy in to to try and make some money on your site. The beheadings and animal sex, though biblically accurate are depicted with child toys which could really mess them up the next time they look at their lego pieces.

Take another look and reread the word bubble for Stephen. The author is making the comment that the Old Testament does not predict Jesus coming at all, and that Christians take the Bible out of context when they say that it does. It’s not very subtle at all.

        Hey guys (@Ben @ Jonathan),

I’m not sure who put it together, but this is obviously not a place to let kids run free (after further review). There is, however, some great stuff if you’re looking for something specific and don’t use it blindly.

    Hi all.
I used to know this guy. He is an avid atheist with no respect for Christianity. He openly mocks Christ and the Church in most of his projects. Not recommended at all.

    • July 23, 2012 at #

Atheist or not, the project is impressive and there are plenty of slides that could be used as illustrations, as they do not mock or contradict the Bible.

      • July 23, 2012 at #

According to wiki, he is indeed an atheist.
He also charges money for these images to be used in sermons.
        http://www.thebricktestament.com/churches/index.html
You’re also not supposed to republish these images
It is apparent that he’s solely in it to make fun of and profit it from Christians.
I wouldn’t want to support that nor would I want his work “supporting” my ministry any more than Paul wanted the possessed girl supporting his ministry in Acts 16: 17-18

          Tyler, I think you’re right.

          Good call.

Wow. A lot of work for someone who is evidently an atheist. Very odd. It seems to me that God has got a serious hold of him if he’s spending all his time, well, thinking about God and reading the Bible. Either that or he is a very broken and hurting person. I think it’s interesting how much time atheist’s think about God. I wouldn’t be surprised if they do so more than some believers!

On further review, I would agree that, unfortunately, this website has some images that mock Christianity and the principles we all live by. For example, several of the sections in ‘the teachings of Jesus’: http://www.bricktestament.com/the_teachings_of_jesus/index.html are not only inappropriate & graphic, but mocking what Jesus said.

I ran across this website a few weeks ago and thought it was real cool at first. Now I’m left disappointed and discouraged. What a great work gone bad!
