The 8BIT Network Launches 3 New Blogs: ChurchCreate.com, ChurchIT.com, and ChurchDrop.com

This post has been queued up for months and I’m so stoked to finally be able to publish it: The 8BIT Network is proud to announce the launch of 3 new blogs which will cover 3 specific areas of content:

Our goal is to provide the same quality content and coverage that you’ve been experiencing here on ChurchCrunch as well as new and exciting communities and conversations so that we might be able to connect better.

Just like ChurchCrunch, the 8BIT Network‘s team is going to treat each one as it’s own little “experiment” (read some of my thoughts about it here) and commit to at least a year of blogging, regardless of success or failure.

Calling All Authors and Guest Posters!

There are definitely a few differences between how we’ve grown ChurchCrunch and how we plan on building these 3 properties and one of the most significant areas is in the field of Guest Authors/Guest Posters.

ChurchCrunch, for context, has currently 43 active Guest Authors who have collectively contributed nearly 100 Posts since it’s inception.

Unbelievable.

And what’s even more fascinating is that the guest posts, do far better in not only traffic but also comments and retweets! It just goes to show that the power of this growing and active community has always been right there: The community and their passionate contributions to the conversation.

We want to take it to the next level. Our goal for these three new blogs within the first year is double the above numbers: 100 Guest Authors and 200 Guest Posts.

Compensation for Your Time and Expertise!

Not only will we seek to leverage and count on YOU more in terms of guest posting for ChurchIT, ChurchCreate, and ChurchDrop, we want to up the reward and return for your time and investment.

We’ll be not only giving you the obvious benefits of direct traffic (as mentioned in the redesign notes here) but we’ll be compensating each author up to $15 per post.

w00t!

We think that this will create the best content and provide the biggest return on your limited time (cause we know all of you are busy!).

Trust us when we say that we’re just as excited about this as you may be (and then some). We’ll be a bit more judicious in terms of quality and the focus of content but don’t let that stop you from trying.

If you’re interested you can read up on the requirements for guest posting here:

We’re looking forward to not only hearing from you but seeing the launch of these three new sites and their potential success, God willing.

Thanks for being awesome, and here’s to new beginnings! Spread the word, and make sure to follow each blog on Twitter!

I’m SUPER stoked for this! I know I keep saying that I’m going to get around to writing some content for these new blogs. I really really hope to be able to some day. Perhaps this will actually help me figure out where I want to go with my own personal blog. I’m thinking my own blog should just focus on my life and things I want to talk about… in all it’s randomness… it is quite beautiful sometimes.

I’m hoping that through these 8Bit blogs I will be able to contribute something meaningful to the online conversation soon.

I can’t wait to check out all the great information this collection of Church based weblogs will bring to the interwebs. I’m already a reader of ChurchCrunch, and I will now add the others to my growing list of Church and Technology blogs.

Hopefully one day I will be able to contribute a post or two to the 8Bit Blog Network.

We are blowing up the interwebs together one site at a time. I’m not sure how I will be able to keep up with all that is going on. I mean I’m interested in all of the sites and have already subscribed to them in Google Reader. *smacks himself in the head* Why, Brian? Why!!

Love the network idea. Great way to focus content better. But I’m curious, what will ChurchCrunch’s focus be?

    • February 4, 2010 at #

web technology exclusively, as well as news and editorial. we definitely have some plans…

2 things I noticed that could be looked at that I hope can help usability of the site:

When logging in – pressing tab from the username goes straight to the name field for the comments section and not to the password field as I expected.

When receiving emails for comments there is no mention to the original comment that this was a reply to (when it was a reply to a comment) – sorry for the awkward sentence.

    hope it is helpful :)
