This is some really awesome technology!
If you miss feeling those keys while you type on your smartphone, you’re going to love this new technology from Tactus Technology.
It. Is. Amazing.
Creating special pockets in the display surface that can be filled by a non-toxic fluid, the plastic-like (or bubble wrap–depending on your personal settings) buttons raise up from the screen.
With touch keys, you’re less likely to make a mistake. Feeling the keys provides two key elements for accurate typing:
- Confirmation
- Orientation
But this new tech is about more than just typing well on your mobile device. Imagine if you used this for a TV/Video remote? When you were using your gear, only the applicable buttons would rise. They’ve also talked about using it in automobiles, as more and more touch-screens are being added. Tactile buttons would be perfect, especially since drivers need to be keeping their eyes on the road, not the screen.
You can learn more about this cool new tech on the Tactus Technology website, or read more and watch this news story from CNET.
So, cool.
