Sunday Special QA No. 42

It’s that time again…! Sunday’s a good day to take it easy.

I’ve decided that on Sundays I’m not going to do any blogging except for a very simple post series called “The Sunday Special” where you get to ask me anything.

You can ask about me about web technology, WordPress, blogging, what I ate for breakfast… whatever.

I can’t promise that I’ll answer all of your questions, but feel free to answer each other’s questions as well.

I’ll try to answer all the questions throughout the coming week.

Simple enough, right? Go.

Thanks again for your help yesterday. How do I know I'm getting the most accurate data from Google Analytics? Should I add the script to every single post I do on my blog? Or is having the script in just the index page enough?

I'm talking specifically about the Sunday posts (since it's the same
    post every Sunday). 30?

Have you ever done an AdSense (or similar) ad to generate traffic for this blog? Other blogs you run?

    • January 11, 2010 at #

I have. In fact, i've done it on the feeds right now as tests.

I'm thinking of perhaps bringing it back for the new redesign… but not sure yet. what are your thoughts?

I think most regular blog readers are either used to seeing the ads or have an adblocker. Either way, I think it's a good idea.

What about doing any keyword campaigns yourself? As in, have you bought advertising yourself to bring in more readers?

How'd the talk go at WordCamp? How did people respond? (I'm sure it was tubular; just curious about your opinion..)

John was awesome. He got lots of laughs. He gave us lots of info. Most importantly, he inspired everyone and assured us that we could all be freelancers. At the end he got everyone to get up, mix and mingle. Definitely one of the best presentations of the weekend for me.

I wanted to ask how what tabbing plugin you use for your Categories and Archives and how on earth you style it.
but I don't see it in your sidebar anymore and I think I am getting a handle on it.
Interesting that not many blogs (that I visit) have it.
I think that it's a great way to offer information and the power of choice to the reader as well as saving space.

b.t.w. also looking forward to what happened at Word Camp
