Sunday’s a good day to take it easy.
I’ve decided that on Sunday’s I’m not going to do any blogging except for a very simple post series called “The Sunday Special” where you get to ask me anything you’d like.
You can ask about me about web technology, wordpress, blogging, what I ate for breakfast… whatever. I can’t promise that I’ll answer all of your questions, but feel free to answer each other’s questions as well. I’ll try to answer the questions throughout the coming week.
Simple enough, right? Go.

Throwing an inside slider at you. I just came from an amazing worship time where 4 language speaking congregations (that all meet on our campus) met together for joint worship. It was amazing to have the music led in spanish for a room that was full of english, japanese, hispanic, and slavic worshipers. We typically isolate these "environments" but come together for "5th Sundays." I don't think I address this relationship enough on the web. I've been thinking that an overhaul of our web site is near anyway. Any advice on how I should address these on the web?
Huh.
That's definitely interesting. If you were to create “environments” that wer language/ethnic specific, you'd have to do it for EVERY one in your congregation… perhaps. or you can create landing pages for a few of them if they are really that large.
we created a spanish page for north point: http://www.northpoint.org/enespanol/bienvenidos/< ... />
that's a tough one. there's room for creativity here too.
Where do you get your stock images?
Excellent question, and how do you address copyright? Do you always use items licensed under creative commons. Ooops, sorry that was two questions…..
i've purchased a few in the past. always CC license for use of stuff tho.
i have a ton of resources that i use…
sxc.hu was one of the first places i look. beautiful stock.
When are you getting to DFW again? We need to meet in person one of these days.
I would love to see wider coverage of various churches' efforts using technology to accomplish such things like this….
that would definitely be good.
what's for dinner?
… zaxby's chicken.
I have been reading a few books that have been addressing the sabbath. How do we address that in a 24/7 internet world?
Shouldn't you define what the Sabbath is first?
… it was going to be summer, but, no time this time around..
bill's point is good…
good point.

What is your favorite thing to do offline? It is still Sunday where I am.
one of my favorite things to do offline is simply goto sunday service. there's something about a live community gathering, you know?
Sunday is my Sabbath. I go to church and hang out with family & friends, watch sports and eat and sometimes take a nap. I generally don't use twiiter or facebook during the day when the kids and wife are awake.
What's your usually Sunday look like?
hanging out with family.
On my Shabbath I often "fast" from computer and internet (on Sundays). That's why I then only post a quote on my blog.
My question that I was about to ask the readers on my blog: how do you manage to remember where you have left comments and then manage to come back to read the follow-up comments? I don't manage unless there is an option to subscribe to the updates of the post. (like here)
Using intense debate really helps with all of that…
but does it work on all webpages?
it can!
How? I registered on Intense Debate, but when I just commented on a blog, there was no sign of it.
still not there?
Strange, I received a reply from you via e-mail but I can't see it here. So this is in reply to the question I received: No, it's only working on your blog, not on any other blog. I think it depends if a blog has it installed. e.g. I can't install it because WordPress.com does not allow javascript.
So, this means, Intense Debate might be nice but if it does not work on all blogs that I visit and comment, it is not a solution to my problem. http://malianta.wordpress.com/2009/04/02/how-to-f…
Are there any resources a young church that meets in a theater can turn to for lighting? We have no one technical in that area and we’re just starting to dive into the world of DMX.
