Here’s a nifty app that will add a new angle and give your iPad web browsing experience a new edge.
Using your iPad to surf the web can sometimes feel a little cramped, limited and temporary. It’s nothing like using a web browser like a work horse in a desktop experience. The Start app integrates some interesting features as it brings the web to PDF and some other interesting tablet web browsing features.
Start
Fundamentally, Start allows you to easily convert web pages to Adobe PDF format. You then can open your PDFs in other apps, transfer to your workstation via USB using iTunes File Sharing, or simply email your PDFs.
But that’s not all.
Start is also a full featured browser.
Features include:
- 1 click to create a PDF from a web page
- Tabbed Browsing
- Easily Mail screen capture of web page
- Supports Printing of web page
- Save web page to Pocket (Read It Later)
- Easily pin an image to Pinterest
- Tweet links
- Opens MS Office documents and convert them to PDF.
Is it worth the $1.99?
That depends.
If you’re doing much research work online, want some easy social network integration as well as Pocket (Read It Later), then yes, it’s worth at least one cup of Starbucks!
You can learn more on the Start website or grab it directly from the Apple App Store.

Thanks for the heads up on this app. I am going to look into it more but it looks like it might be the key hopefully it has evernote (or will have) integration as well.

It sounds like they have more features planned for the future, that would be an excellent addition!

I can’t find a browser that won’t crash – every day at least once – on the iPad.
How does this one do?
