I love Star Wars.
I also love Shakespeare.
Can you imagine my reaction when I saw this book: Willam Shakespeare’s Star Wars? It was released in 2013, so I don’t know how I could have missed it for so long.
It’s in one word: #EPIC
Just read the prologue. All of a sudden this all-too-familiar tale gets a whole new dimension. Plus, it sounds so much more eloquent and smart.
And author Ian Doescher has done a phenomenal job on the dialogue as well, managing to make Darth vader sounds like, well, Shakespeare. He’s all the more villan-y for it!
The drawings and illustrations fit this edition perfectly and bring familiar faces to life in a new way.
In short, William Shakespeare’s Star Wars is a worthy addition to the collection of any Star wars fan. It elevates Star Wars to a whole new level and guarantees hours of ‘literary’ reading pleasure. Plus, there’s no need to feel guilty anymore because surely Shakespeare equals high culture, right?
Verily, I say Thee, hast Thou ever seen anything this wond’rous?

These are great! If you can, listen to them as audio books. I’ve listened to all three in the original trilogy.

Oh, that’s an awesome tip. I didn’t even think of that! Thanks for sharing 🙂
