Socialwok Makes Me Feel More Socially-Asian (and More Productive)

Actually, that’s what @Jared, one of my 8BIT teammates said, or something to that affect.
;)

If you haven’t checked out Socialwok, a new social communication and group collaboration tool that leverages your Google Apps account, you need to.

And not because I said so but because it seriously looks like a valuable tool.

… And I’ve just been using it for 5 minutes.

We’ve just started trying it out at 8BIT and although the verdict isn’t in yet I’m personally excited to see how it can be leveraged effectively.

After a very easy setup with some very user-friendly guided system I had invited all of my team and we we’re in the actual app:

Again, I see some crazy opportunities for organizations to use this well, especially if the purpose is pretty targeted. For example, we might be able to use this for our much larger volunteer group and team long term:

What do you think?

You keep showing us great tools that I don’t think will work well with our ministry over in Germany. People in the church won’t even check out my blog because it is just another inconvenience for them :-(

I was basically told, “I have facebook, why do I need to come to your blog.”… pulling the rest of my hair out.

      What else do Germans use?
      Surely it isn’t just FB…

I feel your pain David- have you imported your blog to your personal Facebook profile as well as your ministry’s Facebook Page? (if you don’t have a page, GET ONE!)

You can access both of these features in Notes for each, respectively.

THIS BRINGS YOUR BLOG TO Facebook- AND TO YOUR PEOPLE!

Is there a self hosted capability to install on my own server?

It looks cool for sure, and I’m a big fan of self hosted…

Also, is this not what GWave was supposed to be?

      • March 12, 2010 at #

I thought the exact same thing, “Looks like what gwave was promised to be.”

Oh google, how many gwaves do we need? ;)

You might want to try installing it from the Google App Marketplace (http://www.google.com/enterprise/marketplace/viewListing?productListingId=3417+12478002564835859903) everyone that adds it doesn’t have to approve SocialWok to access everything and it will make a link right in Gmail, Gdocs and everywhere else directly to SocialWok.

It looks like a private Buzz, which would be incredibly useful for a team that’s wholly adopted Google Apps.

sooo, is this going to take over the yammer account?

  7. March 13, 2010 at #

pity for the 500 errors I keep getting, hmmm

This looks like a great opportunity to get teams on the same page. This could be the chance to say, well wholly adopt google apps, cause we are gonna get organized! :)

This reminds me of Google Wave. Which would you say is better: Gwave – Yammer – or SocialWork?

    • March 13, 2010 at #

      SocilWOK is betta.

It goes on first to make the hair clean….

hmm because I’ve heard that Gwave is better because it leaves the hair silky and smooth…

OMG! This is freakin awesome! I just set it up for ProShaker40.com and it’s going to be great for our team!
