I get asked how much time people put into social media constantly as they see it as a huge task that is just not going to be worth it. I will say that a social media action plan without a strategy is worthless and most of the concentrated time is in developing the strategy and then it really can be as little as couple hours a week. The infographic below gives you one option to try out as a schedule, though I would highly recommend you find out what fits for you.
Here is what I see from the infographic.
- 10 min to Twitter, Facebook is 6 min, LinkedIn 6 min, and beyond.
- I do disagree that only two minutes should be given to Google+ if you use it well. You need to write out longer posts and that takes time.
- This infographic talks a lot about promoting stuff, little about engaging. I would actually say a promotional strategy generally fails long term, so know what you want to do.

Don’t know if I agree w/ the amount of time allocated to each social media channel, but having a strategy and spending focused time creating content and engaging w/ your audience will beat out a haphazard random approach.
Extra points for run on sentence.

I completely hear what you mean by the time spent on social media and know that it is definitely important to be able to push standards instead of rigid structures like they do and I do not know what you mean by run on sentences, because I would never do that because I am a professional blog and I would not over use words like “and” or “because” that would then make a run on sentence and so I guess maybe you just made a mistake. #seewhatididthere?
