Age structure A population pyramid that shows the age of the population by sex from 1950-2010. (2009 est.) 0–14 years: 20.2% (male 31,639,127/female 30,305,704) 15–64 years: 67.0% (male 102,665,043/female 103,129,321) 65 years and over: 12.8% (male 16,901,232/female 22,571,696)
This means the primary market (15-64) only has two-thirds of the population. So yeah- 50% is good info.
There are some rather enormous language errors/unexpecteds in this infographic that are not helpful to encourage trust in the stats…
1) I struggle to believe Facebook does not rank AT ALL in the most accessed Mobile sites… considering it has 100million mobile users 2) Apparently the internet is accessed exclusively by both 26% & 29% of mobile users 3) Goggle makes up 97.57% of search.
They might all be true, but mistakes are bad…
However your point stands- it’s a HUGE strategic market!!
I’m shocked to see that statistically, EVERYONE in Taiwan owns a mobile phone. Discounting a whole multitude of people (elderly, children, rural, etc), how many folks own multiple phones?
It *has* to be higher than half. Verizon has 80m and that’s just one company…
But the heart of the post, yes definitely, mobile is where the eyeballs are going, as Vaynerchuk would say.
I thought so too, but it’s spot on.
Consider that out of the 300m+ USA’ns:
This means the primary market (15-64) only has two-thirds of the population. So yeah- 50% is good info.

This makes it less believable.

And even less. Yikes- huge oversight, it appears.
how much of that SMS’s worldwide is comprised of advertising?
a lot of it. and more every day….
That’s a lot of info in one graph.
Only 50% though? I would’ve guess higher. Especially when I see even the homeless have Blackberrys :/
you have some of those where you are too? isn’t that……. weird…….?
