We did a post for Churchm.ag asking if we should support the hacker group, Anonymous. Below is the content of the post, but here is the article at Churchm.ag that has the video we reference.
If you are plugged into online news, you know about the hacker group Anonymous. They have claimed being a part of many different online breakings, everything from simply defacing websites to stealing credit card and personal information. But they say that they do it all in the name of equality and being fair online.
A couple of weeks ago, Anonymous made a video announcing that they need our help to hit Facebook.
So the question is, as Christians, should we help Anonymous?
Better yet, living in the guidelines of our faith, can we even support their cause?
The government labels them cyber terrorists.
They say they are rebels fighting for freedom.
So what do you say?
guest says
I am for freedom and fairness, but not terrorism. They are terrorists. The ends do not justify the means. They need to find a better way to get their message across.

Thanks for the share. I intentionally left it open ended for some debate. Curious what you’d think if their actions were “lighter” and not terrorist related how you’d respond? I don’t disagree, but labeling them terrorists removes this theological critique of similar actions.
James says
They are not terrorists.

I believe that it is our duty to resist evil as Christians. All that is required for evil to flourish is for good men to do nothing. Anonymous is an idea they as a whole will make mistakes but they also have good points. If something is not done who knows what will happen. The bible calls for many safe guards against crooked politicians that are not unfortunately set in place there fore we must fix what is wrong. Many would say there terrorists that is not true. they are patriots they are activists they are anarchists. Many would say will anarchists are evil correct there against god wrong many great anarchists have been christian one of the greatest christian writers of all time wrote to his son saying he leaned towards agreeing with anarchy. Tolkien wrote that the same man known respectively for both the lord of the rings and the screwtape letters.

Tolkien wrote what?
