We already have a blog checklist for you to go over before every blog article you post, so it makes sense to go to the next level and improve your social media accounts as well.
It should be noted that this is created to improve everything on your social media presence, not just your posts, so as to connect with others better.
My suggestion?
Go through this checklist yourself and see where you can invest a little bit of time for a lot bigger results:
Certainly this is not the end all, be all for social media, especially since social media is ever evolving.
What would you add to this list to make social media even more powerful?

Great resource. Question – is it even worth it to pay for Facebook adverts? Aren’t they just farmed through ‘click farms’, anyway? I’ve shunned it so far, in favor of pure organic growth, but growth is slow. I hesitate to budget it, if there’s no true value to our congregation.

Ads in general without refinement, nope. Promoted posts for the masses, nope, But promoted posts to your audience and ads for a specific audience, that is a good idea to consider. There is value there.
