Scheduling is Everything – Blog Strategy

schedulerAlthough my post on “Respecting the Muse” might suggest that my blog posting strategy is based on inspirational moments of sheer blogging bliss, I’d be lying.

Although the Muses do help, they are certainly not everything. Scheduling is.

And it’s not without purpose. It’s a necessity. To make the marks, metrics, and goals that I have for my blogs I must have a schedule to keep me on track. It’s the only way that consistency is built, not only for my life (to keep it manageable and sane) but also for the readership.

I’ve come to realize that it’s very close to something like a “work out” schedule.  There are days where I don’t want to work out but I still do. There are days when I want to want to work out more than the allotted amount but I don’t.

I stick to the schedule. So far, it’s worked out quite well…!

Do you have a “blogging schedule”?

No schedule. I blog as I feel moved to, although I have been able to post everyday for the past few months. I seem to go in spurts of muse-like inspiration followed by periods of "oh, boy, I got nothing to say today."

Wow. you pre-empted my post by like 30 seconds…

Yes, I am now inside your mind. It is a frightening place to be, but no more than my own mind. So I am no more afraid than I normally am.

for now I post when I feel like it… but I see the benefits of having a schedule and am working towards that.

it's an option. it works really well, but some aren't of that “kind”… :)

I've only been blogging for a little over a week. I have tried to post every day (missed yesterday). I know what I will be writing about tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday. I suppose that is a schedule.

I do not have a "schedule" as yet, but I really need one. I have managed to be consistent in posting 4 times a week or so but there isn't a schedule. I have been saying for weeks that I need to make a blogging budget so that I budget my blogging into my life…maybe this week eh?

Yeah, you just have to sit down and commit… then just do it. accountability really helps with this…

I am trying to build some accountability into several areas of my life and blogging is just one. I have way too many balls in the air at the moment and I need to shed some stuff and organize others so I don't fry a circuit! Thanks for the suggestion!

gonna need more planning to effectively do MORE than your avg.pastor,dad,director,husband,youthguy,friend,etc. I want to blog, write, and continue to teach on Sunday in the highest caliber. Not just average. Average sucks. I'm done.'nuff said.
