Do you have something new you’d like to share?
Would you like some feedback on a current project you’re working on?
The guys at 8BIT are always throwing ideas around to each other, getting feedback on ideas and designs. It’s amazing how a design or an idea can be presented, and it’s a great idea, but after it gets poked, prodded and tweaked, it turns into pure awesomeness.
We can do the same thing on Saturday Sunday Share!
If you’ve completed some work, don’t be shy to show-off either, but this isn’t just a place for completed projects and ideas, this can also be a place where we can help each other out.
Check out some of last week’s shares:
- Joanna – continues to faithfully write blog posts. Such an encouragement!
- James Cooper – continues to impress clients and build his dream. Awesome.
- Ruben Nuñez – created a band new portfolio website that’s very impressive. Check it out!
- Raoul Snyman – couldn’t believe he blew up the internet. He did. It’s true.
There’s room for so much more diversity, so don’t hold back!
Let’s see what you have for this Saturday Sunday Share!

I just launched a collaborative eBook writing project on my blog. The goal is to produce an eBook that helps the average Christian ‘get in the game’. Along the way, those who participate can share their own thoughts on discipleship and there will be contests and prizes for cover design and title suggestions. Lots that will be happening. Check it out: http://ht.ly/1ftRPP

That’s a very cool idea!

In between writing novels and non-fiction books, I’m also working on a 3D game engine which will be the foundation for a series of games (some Biblically-based). The development blog is here: http://www.candlepowerstudios.blogspot.com

Well, Monday and Tuesday my family and I were flying across the world (from Cape Town, South Africa to Tuscon, Arizona) to visit my wife’s family.
Prior to the flights, I ordered a netbook from Amazon, which had already been delivered when we arrived here. I got the Toshiba NB505[0]. I promptly loaded Kubuntu Linux on it, and I’m so impressed because *everything* works out of the box. Wireless, webcam, suspend on closing the lid, everything… it’s awesome.
Yesterday I started adding some requested functionality to the web remote[1] part of OpenLP[2]. I haven’t gotten it into the main line of code, but I’ve pushed it up to Launchpad.net[3] for now. I’m hoping to propose it for merging early next week.

Sweet! Love the idea of dropping Kubuntu on a netbook. Thinking about doing it myself.

Thanks guys for the shout out! That’s awesome.
This week I was inspired by Jim Le Page’s very cool bible artwork to launch a new blog series based on my churches’ sunday gospel readings. I read the gospel readings that pertains to the weekend, and design two posters based on them as both a spiritual and art exercise.
Here are the first two posts I’ve done based on the new series:
http://www.studio35design.com/foolish-wise-virgins (last sunday’s readings)
http://www.studio35design.com/priests-bad-sunday-biblical-design (this sunday’s readings)
By the way, I love your blog! You guys have excellent articles and post very frequently. Its definitely becoming a must read for me.
Joanna says
Love your designs. Definitely a good way to help people remember the scriptures they are hearing in church. Have you thought about making them in desktop wallpaper sizes to give people another option for seeing/reading them regularly?
Ruben Nuñez says
Thank you for your kind comments!
Funny, I was just contemplating making the designs into wallpapers yesteday. I’ll definitely keep in in mind.
Eric Dye says
Dude. Nice designs. Love it!
(Thanks for reading!)

Today I launched a “treasure hunt” on my blog that I announced in yesterday’s “Month In Review”. It has to do with “the 5th of November”. Nobody has been able to crack the code and win the prize yet… maybe one of the brilliant people here in the ChurchMag community can!
You can find the explanation in: http://dustn.tv/october-2011-month-in-review

Cool idea, man!

This week I wrote about dealing with disappointment http://www.joannamuses.com/2011/11/dealing-with-disappointment.html
I’m finding it quite helpful to have these Saturday Sunday share posts. Having somewhere to report to provides a little extra motivation to get something finished and posted every week.
