Some of us live and die by our computers. We’d like to think otherwise, but how many of you are truly indifferent when it comes to Mac or PC? PowerPoint or Keynote?
The same can be said for our applications, too. Although I don’t particularly align myself with a single browser, I’m prefer both Chrome and Firefox. I dig Chrome’s minimalist design and speed and I can’t live without the development tools that Firefox offers.
What’s a developer to do?
Easy – make Firefox look like Chrome:

Developer extensions for Chrome are quickly catching up to what is available in Firefox. I’ve almost completely moved over to Chrome now. Here’s a list of some of these extensions [via mashable]

I love chrome, but still won’t switch till the real firebug is native
Tom says
Yeah, I’m all for Chrome stepping it up but until extensions such as Firebug are native, I’m not swapping.

But seriously… I’m with you. I need all the developmental gadgetry that the flaming fox has to offer. I’m rarely in another browser.
Tom says
If they’ll just fix that memory and separate tabs into their own processes, I’d be totally happy with it.

Actually, the Chrome developer features aren’t too bad. The Developer Tools, JavaScript Console, and about: pages are all pretty promising for such a young browser.
Tom says
They’re not bad and I definitely agree they are maturing, but Firebug has become such a crutch for me that until they catch up to its power, I can’t fully migrate..
