We talk a lot about closing the gap between our browsers and our desktops, but what about our browsers and our mobile devices?
Chrome To Phone is working on it…
Chrome To Phone is a Chrome extension that allows you to push whatever you’re currently viewing on your desktop installation of Chrome to your Android device.
This includes:
- Links
- Maps
- Notes
- Text
- Pages
- …and more
Remember to install the corresponding Chrome To Phone Android app, too.
Any of you using it? How’s it working out?

I posted on this earlier in the month (http://www.darylmcmullen.com/2010/08/google-chrome-to-phone-app/). Needless to say with any new technology like this it’s tough to embed it into your life. Truth is, you get into a web surfing routine and you just forget that the new thing is there. I absolutely love the idea and will undoubtedly use it in those rare instances where I need to send a map to my phone. But only if I remember that I even have it!
sweet! good call daryl.
pretty sweet. Chrome to iphone would be even sweeter…..
Yeah … ‘cept there’s no Chrome on iPhone
I love this feature. It takes a few minutes for it to hit your phone, but it’s really a cool feature that you end up using more than you’d think. (or maybe as much as)
I’ll find out .. one day ..
I don’t have Froyo on my Android just yet (the results of getting the Motorola Cliq xt), so I’m reliant on LinkPush, an alternative that has a Chrome extension (or browser shortcut for cross-functionality). Check it out at http://linkpush.appspot.com/. It does the same trick, mostly, with a simple click of the “bookmark.” Thus, as long as I can access my Google Account online, I can forward it to my phone.
Dude. Nice! Thanks for posting this..
