Hi John,

I enjoyed your presentation at WordCamp ATL but had to leave early to read during Saturday mass. I'm one of my church's website managing editor's. We finally got clearance to make pulpit announcements about resources on our website like our ministry pages, our Haitian church sponsorship program and special events. We hope this will get people to use the site more. We also make sure pertinent links to the website appear in the printed church bulletin. I did a presentation to our ministry leaders on social media. They want to learn more. So yes engaging offline to push them online is the way to go. It's all about educating people to try new forms of communication. I'm sure the folks who are slow to embrace websites and social media also thumbed their noses at TV and radio.

I pass out my business cards to people to direct them to my blog. Where there are links to places like ChurchCrunch and other awesome churchy web spaces and topics. :) Engaging the "offline" world with good old fashioned business cards... cool and hip "skinny" cards of course.

Awesome post, John. All the technology in the world can't make us care for the lost; that must come from the heart.
