This is amazing.
I’m not sure which is more amazing, how old these screenshots are, or the fact that I remember some of these.
Do you remember that Twitter used to be Twttr and Facebook was The Facebook.
I also noticed that Google used to be Google! (with an exclamation point) while Yahoo! was Yahoo (without an exclamation point). I guess the exclamation point migrated search engines, eh?
Yahoo!
Good times.

That is great! I totally remember ‘TheFacebook’, old google and yahoo looking like that. Spent many an hour in yahoo surfing those categories.
I was an early adopter of twitter…but not that early!

OMG! I totally remember that Yahoo page….spent many hours searching that directory, especially in those pesky computer science classes in college.

That Yahoo page really makes me feel old.

You and me, both.

Surely that yahoo page wasn’t considered well designed even by the standards of the time?
Eric Dye says
It was, I’m sure. Not “pretty,” simple perhaps, but it was fairly par as I remember it.

Wow! Nothing like ‘antiquing’ to make oneself feel old. Of course, it also makes me feel glad for HTML 5. (Shoot, even HTML 4).
All seriousness aside, check out this picture of my brother. Does he or does he not look like the original Facebook Banner Boy?
