This tool is amazing.
Someone on my team flagged it for me in our back channel last week and after downloading it I’ve already begun to use it for some of my writing projects because it does exactly what it says it does: Helps you concentrate better so that you can write better:

Oomwriter is a relatively large download once you sign up (50+ megs) but it’s well worth it.
Finding the write combination of sound, music, and size of your writing area will be key for you to maximize your use of it.
I imagine that this tool won’t be used by everyone because all of us have different writing styles and environments in which we’re the most productive (and sorry, it’s only for Mac…!) but if you’re like me (and who’s really is…?) then you might find this tool useful.

You can change the music, the clicks of the sound, the background (more to come!) and then save it as a text document. It even auto-saves every 3 minutes so you don’t lose information if something crashes.

That’s professional. It would be cool if there was a paid/power-user version where you could set your own sound effects or background music. Very cool!

OMMMMMM, I must try it out. Was using WriteRoom every now and again, made me feel quite retro.

been using it for the past 6 months. awesome. used it on the plane but fell asleep bc it was so calming
wrote my notes for a message i gave to college students on it instead of a google doc–literally finished in the half the time.
