I was thinking that too. But, I think such a change would be a turn off for Mega Man fans. When I jumped from Metroid 2 (Gameboy) to Metriod Prime it was a totally different feel. I enjoyed each game immensely but I still favor Metroid 2. The appeal and charm of Mega Man is the simplicity of execution coupled with the difficulty of play. I believe you would loose some of the simplicity if you move into a Metriod Prime type of game.
If you got Retro Studios to do it I don’t think anyone would be disappointed with their efforts ya know. I def feel ya on true blues though. Simplicity is key.
As long as Retro didn’t try to turn Mega Man into something dark and heavy then I think they would be ok.
Have the expansive worlds, classic boss fights, upgrades, and even some new baddies. Keep the Mega Man qualities but make the transition of the reboot better than they did for Sonic…
(hope no one took offense to that Sonic reference)
If we were talking improvement, Laura Croft would win. She was not too flattering Old School. I’d say Ryu or Snake would win over all. The only reason I say them over my Lord and Master Chief, is because the Chief has only been around 13 years as opposed to Ryu and Snake being 24 and 25 respectively.

Mega Man makes me sad. 🙁
Eric Dye says
Me, too. [wipes tear from keyboard]
Marcus Williamson says
Yeah. Wish they could revive it like they did with Metroid.

That would be awesome.

What about Sweet Tooth though. Yuck lol!
JP Melendez says
Yeah, but Sweet Tooth was supposed to be creepy/scary so they were able to get that across both old and new school.
Steven Strickland Jr. says
New school all day. Since the advent of the original SSC Tricky with full world range, old school is out
Marcus Williamson says
I def see what you’re saying but I will say I could sit in front of the tv all day and play some classic Super Mario Bros. or some classic Prime.
Eric Dye says
You and me both! How do you throw down the retro NES?
