Social media allows me to connect with others and easily share links and articles that I find interesting. It’s also quicker than meeting everyone every week…

  2. says

    Shared on Facebook!

I am a social media believer. I’ve found work through Facebook and my blog, and I met two of my dearest friends via Twitter and blogging.

  3. Aaron M says

It gives me an easy way to update friends and family on what is going on and be more involved in other people’s lives that I normally wouldn’t have the opportunity to be.

Being honest, I’m new to Social media. I till have a lot to learn about it. But, what I do enjoy about it is the up lifting, motivating quotes. I have had times when I wanted to give up, do my own thing, or just going through ruff times, and I would open my page on twitter: and someone will tweet the right tweet at the perfect moment I needed encouragement and motivation.

  4. Adam Parker says

I think for me, Social Media is such an amazing way to connect with people you likely would never interact wtih. It’s amazing having friends and family all over the country (and world honestly) that I can connect with so easily. A wonderful tool!

  5. Allen Prell says

As everyone has already said, social media is a great way to connect with people, especially with those we would never engage in any other way. Just recently, thousands of people were reached with a facebook post for a ministry I’m involved with because people liked it and shared it. That kind of reach is much more difficult to achieve with other media like regular web pages or e-mail.

  6. Reuben Urias says

SM allows me to keep in touch with far-away family members, as well as witness to my unbelieving family and friends by sharing articles or giving them word of encouragement and challenge when necessary! Thanks!

  7. Tony Perez says

I wouldn’t say I love social media, I think it has a lot of pitfalls that we need to be careful of but if used to glorify God I think it can be a powerful tool

  8. Michael e says

Social media is a misnomer. It’s more like antisocial media. Why can’t I just talk to you IRL. Are we really that busy?

  9. says

Social media allows me to develop a sense of community with people that live hundreds if not thousands of miles away. It’s enabled me to reconnect with people that I haven’t seen in years. It has also given me a platform to get a message out that I think is important.

  10. says

I Love God and love the way I can share the real and relevant Gospel, I love the story and the people behind an account, I love to show the real face of My God.

At my job using Social Media tools, sometimes I heard bad news, about broken families and the most hidden secrets, I don’t really love the way became addicted to sin on Internet, but I strongly believe that we as Christians, can use Social Media and all the tools in order to be the hands of Jesus.

  11. says

I like it because you can connect to cool people, find out about awesome resources, hear breaking news, and share life together in a humorous way.

  12. Peter Schott says

Keeps me in touch with family as we can post updates and the SQL Server community on Twitter is pretty great. I can send out a help request in < 140 characters and usually get some sort of helpful response.

  13. Keith says

It’s like having a class reunion, former coworker lunch, and family gathering every day. It’s great to see what everyone is up to and sharing the ups and downs of life.

With the right group of followers, friends and connections, you will always have a support group. Someone in that group has gone through what you are going and can help in times of need.

  14. says

Social media has allowed me to connect with and engage with people in a way that wasn’t possible 10 years ago. It’s allowed me to discover and be exposed to great content, inspiration, and resources much more easily. It’s also a great part of the communication toolbox – both personally and professionally.

Not Ashamed of the Gospel is a fantastic site. Check it out if you haven’t already!

Why do I love social media? Well, when I’m disciplined enough to not spend too much time on it(!), it is a fantastic way to keep in touch with people, learn, stay informed, etc. And I love it because it is a new platform for extending the hope & love of Christ to the world.

  16. says

Social media allows me to make contacts with other believers that I might otherwise never have made. Plus, it alerts me to interesting material or reports that I likewise may never have known about. I see it as a resource.

  17. says

Been using Social Media since before they called it that. In the 90′s it was BBSs and message boards. Now it is Twitter and Facebook. One thing has not changed. People are hurting and one of the best ways to reach them in through what ever flavor is the current social media.

  18. Brian Roden says

Social media like FB and Twitter lets me keep up with what is going on around the Christian blogosphere without having to check in on numerous blogs every day. I can just look at my feed and see what I want to pursue further.

  19. Alexandra says

Social Media is an easy way to stay in touch with a lot of people at once. It is also a great way to start a discussion on a certain topic, spread the good news, or let a lot of people know about a prayer need.

  20. Katie Woodward says

Social media has enabled me to connect with like-minded (and non-like-minded) people, as well as learn and grow as a musician and a Christian. Without social media, I never would have found the opportunities I have been given. It’s also a great way to share the Gospel and allow others a glimpse into how we react to various issues in our lives and in the world.

  21. Karen Rainwater says

I love social media because I am a long way from my home state, and I stay in contact with my siblings through social media. I can keep up with their lives as it unfolds. Facebook is my favorite for that. Twitter is my favorite for breaking news, and getting a glimpse into our small world. I love finding other Christians through Twitter, and sharing Christ through both Facebook and Twitter.

I would like to point out that I couldn’t find a tweet button on this page, so I’m tweeting “manually”. :)

  22. Steve Wheaton says

Social media allows me to keep up with friends and family who I would otherwise not see or speak with nearly as often.

  23. says

Social media is huge part of my personal ministry; it’s a tool to help strengthen and enhance community. I use Facebook to keep on top of what’s going on in friends’ and friends of friends’ lives.

I began a weekly ritual of posting little inspirational thoughts in an effort to encourage others. It developed into something I now call TimmyTuesday™ (I cross-post between my personal page and one specifically created for TimmyTuesday™ posts). Every week I post something that I feel the Holy Spirit has guided and prompted me to say—sometimes I don’t even know what that will be even before I touch my keyboard. And often times the subjects just flow.

More times than I can count I have had people reply or send me a personal message to let me know that my words were exactly what they needed to hear that day, and it was as if I was writing specifically to them. What a blessing it is for me to be a blessing to others. I have made so many friends (real-life friends) through things like Facebook, and am so grateful that God has worked through me to help spread His fame and news of His goodness.

  24. Toni Frallicciardi says

Without social media, our ministry would not reach over 250k youth around the world with God’s Word each day. It has been the tool we use to share and disciple this next generation. I do not believe Christian Skaters would have the impact that it has today without social media.

Facebook is used to post scripture daily and share testimonies of pro athletes to a culture that usually is disregarded. We also use it to equip and encourage missionaries out on the field. I can not tell you how many times a missionary has said that an encouraging post came just when needed.

Sites like LinkedIn are used to network and grown our team and resources.

We also use sites like Pinterest to equip parents to teach kids to be mission minded, share lessons plans for parents, who visit classrooms, etc. for other ministries we work with on a personal level.

I just love the ways it makes it easier to connect and share with the Nations.

  25. Chris Ferow says

Social media has helped me keep up with my family and share stories about my daughters. Social media has also helped us connect with our church connect with others who may be timid to come into church.

  26. Shane Sarae says

I use my FB wall as a platform for the Lord and post inspirational videos, good quotes and beautiful songs to “pay it forward” and inspire others.

  27. Brian Tooley says

I love social media for a few reasons. First, I am able to share the gospel of Christ through encouraging or verses that God has placed on my heart to many more people than just talking to people on the street. I treat Facebook and Twittier as a mission field. Second, I am a substitute teacher in my hometown and a lot of Facebook friends are teachers in the district. They message me when they need a substitute.

  28. Jeff M says

Social media allows me the opportunity to continue pouring into the lives of young men I have been mentoring.

Even if they are away at college, university, or working, we can still connect to challenge and encourage one another to follow hard after Jesus.

Social media also allows me to “eavesdrop” on the pearls of wisdom of great teachers of God’s Word. I wish I had the time to read everything they write, listen to all their sermons, etc., but a busy life doesn’t permit that. A short, pithy, holy “tweet” or post on Facebook stirs my Spirit and encourages my mental and spiritual growth in Christ.

  29. says

Social media is my way of helping to inspire and motivate people to life change. People can change, they can grow- and as a christian I present them with that opportunity for people to embrace the change God calls them to!

  31. Josh says

We have the ability through social media to encourage and connect with other believers. In a time when the media is flooded with the negative or pointless it’s just amazing to see debate, spirited yet friendly debate, about the Word of God and it’s impact in daily life.

  32. says

I like social media for multiple reasons. The most important ones are that it makes sharing the Gospel and truth to hundreds, maybe even thousands, easily doable for me. I RT Christian posts, post verses on twitter & Facebook, have biblical discussions, receive and ask for prayer requests, can connect with other Christians, and much more. I thank God for the opportunities He’s given us to share his live and grace through modern technology.

  33. says

I love Social Media because first and foremost it serves as cloud whereby I can store up articles and posts that I find interesting and relevant. Second, it makes community much easier, as we now live in the connection age-I can easily stay in touch with friends and family that I am not able to live in proximity to.

  34. says

Can’t imagine a life without social media anymore…I live in a very rural area of Germany and when we moved here two years ago, I didn’t know anyone. Without social media I would not have survived, it made it possible for me to stay connected with friends and make new ones at the same times.

  35. says

In my opinion social media is the easiest way to reach a large number of people.

I’m still working on getting my church to adopt a social media strategy which would allow our communication in general to be much more effective.

  36. says

I love using social media because it has the potential to engage people who do walk through our church doors. Jesus was great at turning his listeners upside down. Social media gives me the opportunity to do the same…and vice versa.

  37. says

I love social media because of all of the giveaways and contests I can enter!

Ok…I suppose there’s more to it than that.

I love it because I find it to be an effective way to keep up with family and friends.

    I shared on Twitter:

I’m never lonely with social media and I’m instantly connected to family and new friends all over the world. I don’t know what I’d do if my internet went down for an extended period of time. I’ve come to rely on it for my news, to stay in touch with my son who lives in New York, share photos with other extended family in other states that I don’t see often and share opinions and make new friends. For someone who is socially awkward in public, I’ve found a whole new online personality that doesn’t depend on appearance but on substance.

  39. says

I love Social Media because I can reach out to people all over the world and tell them what’s going on as well as find out what they are doing, thinking, reading, struggling with, laughing at, enjoying. It makes me think and makes me respond. It keeps me grounded and keeps me compassionate, how else would I know that someone (that I don’t see regularly) somewhere (that is no where near where I live) is raising money for an orphanage, having a loved me going through trouble or having struggles with life?

  40. Brent says

Social media helps me keep in touch with friends across the country and make new ones too. I also got a job through social media

  41. Danny Tanner says

Si love social media because it has opened more doors for communication. This is a tool for Christians to use to share the gospel with the world in more creative ways than ever before.

  42. says

I love social media because it allows for effective, affordable marketing for small business owners such as myself. It also helps with customer interaction!

  43. David Amann says

Social media is my source for news a lot of the time! Love being connected with people around the world.

  44. says

I love social media because I caconnect with my church and community in a non-threatening way. There are some great ministry tools online today which have opened a lot of doors into peoples’ homes to the gospel!
