NewSpring Church has announced previously that they’ll be launching their iCampus experience February 1st.
They had a live-fire test this past Thursday (which I was humbly invited to get a sneak peek) and also had an open call to BETA test it today, announced by @tonymorganlive via Twitter.
If you’ve missed it let me be the first to say that it’s a pretty lookin’ thing.
They are obviously using Light Cast Media for their streaming and have some very cool jQuery/AJAX’y like elements, including some live prayer sections, chat, geo-location, etc.
Don’t feel too bad, though. If you’re here they’re having another BETA run @ 6:00pm EST tonight. So, hop on in. Until then, here are some screen caps and video to wet your appetite.
God’s doing some great stuff over there and let’s continue to lift them up and the ministry in prayer!

For the icampus part that is not lightcastmedia, what are they using? Is it created in house? So, other than the video part, are they using a certain interface software or did they build it? Does that even make sense?
contracted out. some is open source too
it was great to watch how it went together… I have about 1,000 questions but it was great to see technology merge into the passion of a live service
Thanks for the props. Our web strategist, Joshua Blankenship, handled a lot of the front end code. We contracted with someone for the back-end code. Send a note to Joshua @ web@newspring.cc if you have more detailed questions about the web interface.
What an exciting day for Newspring! I'm bummed I couldn't make it to the Beta testing, but I'm excited for Newspring and all that God is doing on all of their campuses!
definitely. god's doing some awesome stuff.
