Establishing daily habits isn’t a walk in the park.
It takes self-discipline and motivation. Most people fail at resolutions because they lack resolve.
Ironic, no?
Two big challenges of forming habits are simplicity and accountability.
3 Apps to Get You Fit in 2014!
These 3 apps can help you keep habit-making simple and hold you accountable for your goals.
1. StrongLifts
For some ridiculous reason we tend to over-complicate exercise routines. StrongLifts cuts the fluff and motions that feel absurd. No more awkward machines to torture you. Rotating between 2 workouts with only 3 exercises each, StrongLifts helps you fit cardio AND weight lifting into a busy schedule that gets your heart rate up and builds muscle.
2. Official 100 pushups
Besides arm wrestling and a firm handshake, few things are a test of strength and endurance like pushups. Official 100 pushups guides you through a series of semi-daily workouts to reach, you guessed it, 100 pushups. The app uses the iPhone’s camera the app counts pushups for you and has 3 difficulty settings to fit your fitness level. With notifications and a smooth interface this app is fun to use.
3. Lift
While this app can be used for losing weight or eating right, Lift is great for simply tracking your goals each day. Just set your daily activities (workout, take a vitamin, write 500 words, etc) and tap each time you complete it. Join groups to share your progress with other users or keep it private. Goals are on the launch screen which creates an easy reminder at your fingertips.
These 3 apps are helping me exercise, drink more water, read the Bible, and write more consistently in 2014. Each is free to try, so check ‘em out.
What are your goals for 2014 or even this month?
Do you wrestle with simplicity and accountability?

I’ve had great success with LIft, but for my running I use Runkeeper. Great ideas.
