New Daylight App, Fresh Approach to Bible Reading?

I love new ways to approach and read the Scriptures; it’s one of the few areas that I can really rejoice in. Although one may be critical of the “consumer mentality” of choice when it comes to reading the Word, here’s my bottom line: At least they’re reading it!

Better than not reading it, right?

So here’s what the “New Daylight Bible Reading App” offers:

New Daylight offers daily Bible readings and reflections for everybody who wants to go deeper with God. The free app contains a sample of 7 readings and reflections that you can keep and use on your iPhone forever.

The New Daylight app opens on a specially prepared reading each and every day of the year. It is ideal for those looking for a fresh approach to regular Bible study, and offers a talented team of contributors who present a Bible passage (text included), helpful comment and a prayer or thought for the day ahead.

Here are some of their key features:

  • Save your favourite readings to go back to again and again
  • Change the font size to make your reading more comfortable
  • Email a selected reading to a friend
  • Keep track of all readings you have missed to allow you to catch up
  • Browse the readings by Bible book, contributor or date
  • The readings are presented as pages so no need to scroll and lose your place

I think the only thing I’m not happy about is the fact that you have to buy other subscriptions. I like free!

Very pleased you are happy with the app we have created for BRF. There are more coming so keep an eye out for the next one.

I am sure they would love to make it free as well but as a charity they use their income to publish more for in their own words:

“And through all that we do – publishing, training, quiet days, on the web – we work to resource individuals and church communities in their Christian discipleship through the Bible, prayer and worship.”
