
Perhaps I’m just way too much of a geek, but I think this home-brewed mp3 music box is just about as charming as the old analog music boxes.

With a little creative polish, you could make the inside look a lot better than this. In fact, if you have better woodshop skills than the guy in the video, you might even have some Etsy potential, too.
As far as home projects go, this could be an EPIC valentines gift.

Cool idea, but not a very good job on the woodwork. You don’t necessarily need a lot of skill – you just need to know a few good tricks, and use the right equipment for the job. I would have used a router, or possibly a plain old-fashioned chisel.
Hrm, I wonder if I’d be able to do something like that to my old MP3/OGG player – I have speakers like that too.
