We started up a new Minecraft server and decide to give it a church tech twist by mixing Christianity and gaming. The concept is certainly not new, but we hope to take it to a new level and start a whole community on here. In this series, we are going to start off with individual “let’s plays” and begin to integrate a more community aspect.
The question is:
Would any of you like to join us?
If so, how do you think we should go about determining who?

This is an awesome idea – I would love to be involved if I could somehow. I have only recently just started playing Minecraft, but I love it, and I think finding a way to incorporate theology is a great idea. I have a blog which I update usually about theology and Christian Life – you can find it at http://medium.com/@BigHowie8. That’s about all I can contribute right now, so if there are others that could better help this project, by all means let them be a part of it! Just wanted to put myself out there a little bit. Thanks, and God bless!

Can you shoot an email to [email protected] and we can take this conversation further there?
Sean Leacy (@GeekAthair) says
Yes, you should ALL want to play with us! Especially at 6am when everyone’s kids seem to get up at the same time to watch daddies play 🙂
Jeremy Smith says
Even if we didn’t record, it was fun!

Looks awesome, but I’ve only ever played this on Xbox. I like my comfy couch.
Jeremy Smith says
I had only played on Xbox 360. but as with most sandbox games, it does play better on the computer.
William Sipling says
THIS IS AWESOME. I think the digital natives of Christianity should do more with gaming. If y’all release server creds, I’d definitely join!

Shoot me an email at [email protected]. We are still figuring out the selection process but this will give us the ability to start the dialogue now.

I’m a full time youth minister and love playing Minecraft. I’d love to be involved in this somehow!

This reminded me of a project we did in my 4th and 5th grade Sunday School class last year where we were asking the kids to consider how we could leverage technology and even games to share the Gospel. The result is on youtube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8r-7brK8Q0Y

Love it! Very nice
