Milk Engine Redesign, iPhone 4 Photoshop Files

I get bored easily and I love change. If you’ve been around here for a bit you already know this about me and that redesigning things is just a part of what I do!

In fact, it’s like the redesign process is more fun than actually finalizing the end result at times. Frustrating, right?

Well, I spent some time this weekend brushing up my business website, Milk Engine, and I realized a number of things that I wanted to make note of…

First off, please feel free to critique the poop out of it!

Ok, so here are a few things that came to mind:

  • I like my iPhone 4. I really liked using it as the center-piece and showcase outline.
  • I love simplicity.
  • I am blessed not to need a site that attempts to showcase our entire portfolio. This is because near 100% of our work is word-of-mouth and referrals. This seriously makes creating a landing page super-easy.
  • Not interested in a “business” blog since I have a lot of other alternative outlets. Perhaps this is better…
  • I like nice icons and jQuery.

If you’re interested, I’m using a combination of these two iPhone 4 Photoshop files (download the first here, second here). I’m also using Komodo Media‘s Social Networking Icon Set (download here). The slider we are using this very simple jQuery implementation (download here).

The “Coming Soon” website looked like this (for ages…!):

Thoughts? When was the last time you redesigned any of your properties?

love the site – simple, elegant, clean.

wanted to give you heads up that your text doesn’t show up in Chrome at first, but I then tried to select the text and it showed up but looked like this (left: Chrome 5.0, right: Fx 3.6). I’m using Win7 64bit.

btw – this was created with SnagIt in one image – I didn’t paste them together.

Actually, I’m currently in the process of redesigning our church’s website and also moving my personal blog from wordpress.com to my own domain and using wordpress.org for both websites. And I agree, less is usually more. Thanks for your continued ministry. God bless.

The site looks solid man! As far as redesigning, I try to not do it as much but I will say it’s hard not to ya know.
