It’s a healthy thing to constantly re-evaluate what we’re doing with our blogs and the technology we use. In fact, I’m so open to this type of thinking that I don’t have any problem jumping ship if a newer blog technology appears.
*gasp*!
If another application that was better than WordPress arrived, and after lots of due-diligence it was proven to be superior, yes, I’d jump.
But that hasn’t happened yet.

How about comments? Saw this new attempt at “simplifying comments” the other day and thought it was worth a review:

jpComments seeks to provide commenting in a very simple way, with just your Twitter handle and your comment. He has even created a WordPress plugin as well for those interested in testing it out! He has noted the one significant downside:
The obvious caveat is that you have to have a twitter account, but I anticipate the target audience to have one already, even if not active.
From my perspective this is a neat implementation. I like it, but the target audience that we serve doesn’t always have Twitter, so it’s definitely not an option.
Good try though, and for some I see it being awesome!
Thoughts?

It won’t catch on with the likes of Disqus and Intense Debate already around. That is maybe something those two could incorporate into their own offerings. For me though, running a large movie website and my small personal site, load times is everything.
Something like this that calls home or even loads more scripts than necessary, eh not my cup of tea.
