iTunes Sells As Many Apps as Songs

This really surprised me.

Apple has now sold as many apps as it has songs.

iTunes has been dealing music for almost 7-years, while apps have been in the market for only half that time!

Look at this chart!

15-Billion!

This equates to rates of 31 million app downloads per month and 12 million song downloads per month.

Whoa.

Meanwhile, iBooks barely make a blip.

There’s obviously a lot of money in apps. Hats-off to places like YouVersion who offer a solid Bible app free of charge.

What are some of your favorite apps? Bible, games, productivity – anything!

I think the lack of iBook sales is pretty interesting. I’m not sure what it means…but Apple doesn’t get everything right!

I agree the lack of iBook sales is the most interesting.

I think it means Amazon shouldn’t have to worry about Apple.
