Business cards are so 2007… right?
Or perhaps the medium just needs to change since the “philosophy” of the business card is still valuable? Enter business cards via SMS with Contxts.
Here’s what you can do with Contxts:
- Exchange all of your professional information with a single text message
- Keep all of your professional contacts organized in one place
- It’s eco-friendly (txt messages don’t kill polar bears)
- Rid yourself of “old school” business cards
- Link with other professionals
Try it out by texting “Human3rror” to 50500…!
Setting it up is SUPER fast and easy. I did it in literally 20 seconds:
And I quickly tested it out and it worked!
Pretty cool, huh?

You crossed out your phone number on your iphone but not on your setup page image.
John Saddington says

while the idea is great; simple, quick and in a massively used stream, the presentation sucks – with now branding or personalization it misses the essence of who you are. Yet, that can be found one click away, I guess.
One day when cities are almost complete WiFi networks and we have constant connection to that network, then we would have permanent business cards; foursquare + MiFi + Business Card? but that is off topic, sorry
John Saddington says
hm. it is pretty bad presentation.
Kyle Reed says
I think so, just text kyle reed to 50500 and find out.
PhillipGibb says
hmmm, only US numbers, pity
John Saddington says
DOH!
Aaron Melton says
Seems like a nice idea but you have to sign up to another website just to manage contact information? If you were going to go this route, why not send the text message directly to the person anyway?
John Saddington says
good point… this provides more than just one piece of info though.
Travis Fish says
Pretty cool idea.
Text travisfish to 50500

I signed up at this site well over a year ago, maybe two years, and frankly had forgotten about it (until now) because I just can’t seem to make it a part of my routine.
John Saddington says
agreed. not sure if i’m going to remember to tell people….
