Is text messaging dying?
In the infographic listed below, it shows 72% of cell phone users send and receive text messages. However, two years is a long time in the tech world.
With smartphones getting smarter and so many streams of communication available on multiple platforms, is text messaging doomed?
According to Nielsen (2010), the average teen sends 10 texts per hour during the day. That’s a lot!
Will these same teens continue to text messaging as young adults, or will it evolve and overflow into other forms of communication?

Texting isn’t going anywhere. I think–I hope–more people will move to platforms like Facebook Messenger, Google Talk and the like so we can move away from crazy carrier pricing on texting plans though. I use Google Voice for 95% of my texting so that I don’t have to pay.
