Stop. Don’t read anything more until you answer this question:
My immediate and initial reaction is…
Ok. Jot that down and save it for later (in the comments).
From the look of it your able to do a number of things on the iPastor App, none of which is completely unique in an of itself and/or standout. But, here are a few that I found interesting:
- Assign multiple categories to a particular person’s needs and assign multiple care strategies to address the need.
- Delegate a ministry need to another person.
- Sort needs according to situation, care strategy, or by delegate.
I think the management of information is just as important as the collection process (which you could do without a dedicated app. Unfortunately I’m not willing to shell out $5 to try it…
And I’m not a “pastor.” *whew*.

If a Pastor out there wants to try it out, I’ll kick in the $5 to purchase it.
John Saddington says
sweet. let’s see if anyone takes you up.
Lori says
Hmmm I passed the information on to my pastor, we will see. He loves new technology.
John Saddington says
sweet!

My gut reaction would that it would give you horrible jokes to open sermons with or something like that. I was pleasantly surprised to read on and discover it’s meant to help with shepherding. But $5? That’s too rich for my blood too…
John Saddington says
venti capuccino right there…

The app itself could be useful.
Sounds like one destined for ultimate use on the iPad.
It’s a shame about the icon pic though.
John Saddington says
seriously… bummer with the icon. so… uh…….
brett barner says
hmm… interesting idea, I wonder how you import all your churches data, or if you have to manually add it. And what about exporting? I see that you can “delegate a ministry need to another person”, but is that only limited to someone else with the iphone app? or does that mean I would know to verbally delegate?
Too many questions for a $5 app.
John Saddington says
good point.

Honestly, my initial reaction was “oh please, another way for people to make fun of us.”
The app sounds like a great idea, though and I passed it on to our pastor, too.
I’m with youngdesign though, better icon/media please.
John Saddington says
agreeed.
Kyle Reed says
My gut reaction was…stupid
It just seems like another toy to play around with and take away from actually doing any work. Would like to read a review from a pastor…hope someone takes up the challenge

Initial Reaction: lame. Way to go cliché.
I agree- from a management standpoint, there are some good uses. I’m not a pastor either, but if I were: 1- not paying 5 bones for it, 2- gonna hide it on the back page cuz it’s ugly, 3- it would be my first delete option for “space-saving”.
John Saddington says
nice “e” cliche.
stephen says
the icon itself makes me lose interest… especially for $5! 5 bones is an expensive app in my book, so for $1.99 I’d say why not… $5, no thanks.
John Saddington says
yeah. a bit heavy…
PhillipGibb says
Cheesy was my first reaction – maybe it’s the picture, yeah it’s the picture.
Don’t think my Pastor will use it – no iPhone.
Barry says
I’m a pastor… please help me… I’ve been abducted by aliens!
Sorry about that… it just happens.
If the app helps you love people and care for them, $5 is a deal.
I would wonder if you could import people from contacts?
But the picture… it is speaking to me right now… it’s saying, “I’m lame and from the 80’s” (not like that weird blue picture the pastor dude is using)
John Saddington says
hehe.
